El empleo de bacterias solubilizadoras de fosfato (BSP) para la solubilización de distintas rocas fosfatadas y de otras fuentes de fósforo es una alternativa para incrementar la cantidad de P disponible para las plantas. Se aislaron 147 BSP de la raíz y rizoplano de diferentes plantas cultivadas. El medio de cultivo denominado Medio Mínimo para Solubilización de Fosfato Colegio de Postgraduados con MgCl (MMSFCP-Mg) fue el más eficiente, debido a que en medio sólido se observaron halos de solubilización de hasta 3.8 cm a los catorce días, y en medio líquido se determinaron hasta 380 mg mL-1 de fosfato soluble a los seis días. Polysiloxane/PVA-glutaraldehyde hybrid composite as solid phase for immunodetections by ELISA BJMBR

We developed an efficient method to prepare a hybrid inorganic-organic composite based on polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and polysiloxane using the sol-gel disc technique. Antigen obtained from Yersinia pestis was covalently immobilized onto these discs with glutaraldehyde and used as solid phase in ELISA for antibody detection in serum of rabbits experimentally immunized with plague. Using 1.25 µg antigen per disc, a peroxidase conjugate dilution of 1:4,000 and a serum dilution of 1:200 were adequate for the establishment of the procedure. These values are similar to those used for PVA-glutaraldehyde discs, plasticized filter paper discs and the polyaniline-Dacron composite discs. Penaeid family shrimp constitute the first aquaculture product in the world in terms of commercial value. They are produced in third world countries of the sub-equatorial belt. Among the causes limiting their production, one is the presence of the WSSV (White Spot Syndrome Virus), a pathogenic agent that produces massive mortality. Our aim was to investigate the first stages of the viral infection, in order to be used as target of prophylactic actions. A fish cell line (SSN-1) was used as model to tentatively develop in vitro studies. Only defective particles were produced confirming the high specificity to crustacea of the infection with crustacean virus.
